Christian Education Ministry Team

Chairpersons:  Deb Trum, Elder

Mission Statement:  To empower the children, youth, and adults of Forest Presbyterian Church to live out the calling Jesus Christ by equipping them with the word of God.

Responsibilities:  Oversee all levels of church school (children, youth, and adults), all youth programs, and special activities for the church that involve teaching the word of God.

Members:  Sarah Friel (secretary) Laurel Johnson (nursery) Kathy Meredith (Children’s Church School and Children’s Chapel) and (Youth Church School) and Kathy Dunevant (youth teacher)

Fellowship Team

Chair: Amy DeRamus

Mission Statement: “Getting to know you because we care.” The Fellowship Team works with other ministry teams to facilitate and promote a sense of community within the congregation though Christian Fellowship that enhance the life of the church and build stronger bonds within the congregation

Responsibilities: Plan and coordinate activities to promote unity, fellowship, caring and mutual support for members as well as friends of the congregation and community. These activities will provide opportunities to get to know one another better, have fun, nurture one another and share in spiritual growth. Periodically will spotlight individual church members and families as a way of allowing members of the congregation learn more about each other.

True fellowship transcends all boundaries of age, gender, social status and all other dictinctions that can be made.

Gal 3:26-28: So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Finance Ministry Team

Chairperson:  Matt Lepcio, Elder

Mission Statement:  To establish and monitor financial controls/budgets, and present fairly the financial position of Forest Presbyterian Church

Responsibilities:  Compile and monitor annual FPC budget; Disburse payments when justified; Keep an accurate accounting of receipts and disbursements; Make optional loan and investment decisions; Publish monthly financial statements

Mission Ministry Team

Mission Statement:  To bring opportunities to be God’s Heart, Hands & Voice to Forest Presbyterian Church

Responsibilities:  Coordinate all mission activities at Forest Presbyterian Church. Examples include Food Drives; 2 Cents a Meal; Rubate Teacher’s College - Kenya; rebuilding together, Angel Trees

Outreach Ministry Team

Mission Statement:  To attract visitors; to make them feel welcome; and to keep them coming back.

Responsibilities:  Coordination of Communications ( Church Sign; Website; Facebook; Church Bulletin Boards); Member Name Tags; Visitor Welcome Bags; Outreach Activities such as Kite Day, Concerts on the Green, Specialty Dinners for College Students, etc

Personnel Ministry Team

Property Ministry Team

Chairpersons:  Paul Phillips, Elder

Mission Statement:  To make a comfortable, attractive environment for both church members and visitors to come together for worship and fellowship.

Responsibilities:  To keep the church building and grounds in good and attractive repair and order.

Members:  John Farrell, John Lanier, Paul Phillips, Ashby May, John Klingenfus.  We are looking for new members to join the beautification of our Church.


Small Groups Ministry Team

Chairperson: Janet Johnson, Elder

Mission Statement: To coordinate small groups for Christian friendship and spiritual growth.

Responsibilities: train and support small group leaders, encourage and publicize small group opportunities, support The Bible in 90 Days program.

Members:  Patricia Kraynik.  This is a new team – open to new members!

Stewardship Ministry Team

Chairperson: Deborah Trum, Elder

Mission Statement:  To educate, promote and remind the congregation that stewardship is a reflection of our personal relationship with God, focusing on the need of the giver to give and creating an environment of generosity within God's church.  

Responsibilities:  Prepare a Stewardship Campaign Budget. Develop and train the team.  Select the educational program to be used.  Obtain guest speakers.  Coordinate Celebration Activities.  Support Consecration (formerly Stewardship) Sunday.  Manage Estimate of Giving Cards (formerly Pledge Cards). Coordinate with Finance Committee to obtain necessary data.  Prepare thank you/confirmation letters. Report results to Session.

Worship & Music Ministry Team

Chairpersons:  Nancy Glover

Mission Statement:  To enrich the spiritual life of members and visitors to FPC with praise to God through worship and music.

Responsibilities:  Plan and Coordinate the worship services of Forest Presbyterian Church including traditional and contemporary services, various special services held throughout the year. W & M team arranges for guest pastors and coordinates liturgists, ushers, and acolytes, as well as scheduling monthly preparation for communion. The music program has benefited from the purchase of a new organ in 2010. W&M is always looking for new members.
